Summer of 2009

This summer God reminded me again how amazing it is that we can share the Good News and our lives in Christ with so many people around us. I realized it one Sunday morning in our church when I was worshiping and our auditorium looked pretty empty because a lot of people were gone. During summer almost every Sunday part of the community was gone to some camp. I was overwhelmed by the feeling of the privilege to bear God’s image and to bear His message about victory in Christ to the darkest places of human hearts. It is so easy to think that it is just another summer full of camps and activities and it is very easy to lose the excitement and the feeling of something great, special and supernatural happening. Without getting the divine drive it is really hard to serve the Lord. This summer I was serving at the soccer camp for kids and I led an English camp for 20somethings. Both camps went really well. Especially my discussion group times at the English camp were very intense and Bible centered. I hope the non-believers experienced a good balance of Truth (which can hurt and provoke) and love (which heals and attracts). I pray I could be overwhelmed more often.

Hi.. Sorry, I was a little busy in last days, so here are some updates, you are waiting for.

Good news is, that Lucka Rehorova will approach to this site soon, so our news will be more frequent, recent and accurate :)

Jura was moved from the intensive care unit to the normal room, he is doing well, doctors say, that he could go home next week. Please, continue in prayers for him. Thank you.

There will be a huge party in our church house this weekend, one of companies in Pisek rented the whole building for Saturday afternoon to Sunday early morning for their Xmas party, estimated amount of people is 600-800. It is a god opportunity for us to present who we are on our walls and there will be many of us keeping the place clean and nice during the party, so it is a good opportunity to tal to many people, I guess. Please, pray for the party goes smoothly and for people who are comming.

Last Friday at the youthgroup we had a Thanksgiving party and we had a lot of fun and food and it was very good, several new people mixed with old friends, just good evening :) Pictures are here.

Every Tuesday we have the English club for youth, leading by Aubree, Bonnie and Leah and it goes well, I would say better and better :) Some pictures from yesterday are right here. There is also the Stáž / Bible study on Tuesday with Jiri Kantor, you can find some more pictures here.

News update

According to news, Jura feels better, but it is still the long way to go.

Please, pray with us for Jura. For last few weeks he did not feel well, so he went to the hospital, where the doctors made some tests. He went through the head-surgery on Friday, but it wasn't simple surgery, so, please, pray with us for him and his family, and for our church too. I think I am not competent to give many details here, so, ask someone, who is, or just pray, please. God is our solid rock, but His heart is full of love.

The Winter is here :)

When I woke up in the morning, I have noticed the white light behind the window. And there it was! The first snow in this year. Not much, but it was a snow. And yes, I touched it. And yes, it's cold. And no, it doesn't taste like icecream :)

They are back!

Uhm - what? Who? :) It's simple. Kuba, Zuzka, Lenka, Eva and Jozef are back in Czech republic, safe in their homes, from their trip to US, where they spend last two weeks. They traveled with Leah Cox, one of our favorite Strakonice' Americans, and they visited many interesting places and met many many interesting people :) Leah will fly back soon, and those who are already at home are very excited, and we look forward to hear their stories :)

The Living Stones campaign was launched! Ondra Svatos and Lucka Rehorova present the campaign during their trip to U.S., visiting our friends a partners. You can see what's going on here.

Several news on the forthcoming events

There will be the third meeting with Jiri Kantor on Saturday November 22 from 5:00 pm. We will continue on study of book of Joshua. Topic: The Dangers and obstacles of the people of God.


One of our preachers, Tomas Pospichal, is moving to Ceska Trebova in two weeks, where he will carry out the preaching in the corps of Brethren Church. We can say him bye and spend some time with him and his family next Sunday, November 23, after the Sunday preaching, in café in our church building.


The projection of the Jesus movie will start on Sunday November 23 in the gym in Blatna. There will be two versions, the abbreviated version for children (starts at 5:30 pm) and classic version (starts at 7:00 pm). For more information ask Vladimir Moroz. All are very welcome. It is a good opportunity to invite your friends and present the gospel easy way.


Our youthgroup will celebrate the Thanksgiving Day on Friday, December 5. We will meet at 6:15 pm and will close at 8:30 pm.

There will be the church service on Sunday, December 7 in Strakonice. The service will be held in Alca and Martin Pospisilovi flat and it starts at 9:30 am local time. Please, pray for it, as it is something new in Strakonice.
